About Me

I am a busy mom first and foremost. This is about my attempt at being a mom and working. I'm not sure how people do it and make it look so easy. It is not easy. But we have fun doing it!

First post

This is officially my first post on the blog that I created almost a year ago. It was first created after I was so enraged by the oil spill that I felt like I would explode if I didn't say something about it publicly. But, I never did post anything about it. Now, I inted to use this blog as a diary of sorts to comment on events and things that I find interested. I will also post regularly on my upcoming trip to Eritrea.

Yesterday afternoon, my cousin, Amanda Franklin, and her husband, Kyle, were in a terrible air show accident that left both of them badly burned. Currently, Amanda is being cared for in a hospital in San Antonio from third degree burns that cover the majority of her body. Her injuries will likely have long-term consequences that no one can predict. After their accident, all I could think was, hasn't this family had enough turmoil? Her father (my uncle) and Kyle's father were both killed in a mid-air collision back in 2005 during an airshow in Canada. With that, and the constant drama in my own family, it makes me ask the question, why do bad things happen to good people?

At church today, we were saying a prayer for the people of Japan who are recovering and still escaping from the aftermath of the earthquake and now the nuclear crisis there. During the prayer, the leader stated, "we don't know what your plan is, God, but we know that you have one". When natural disasters like the earthquake and tragic accidents like my cousin's crash happen, it does make one wonder, what is the plan here exactly?
